Biography
Dr Susan Gledhill is a registered nurse, registered midwife and academic. Her current position is senior lecturer and postgraduate course coordinator in the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Paramedicine at the Australian Catholic University (Brisbane Campus) where she has responsibility for postgraduate course coordination, strategic involvement in curriculum development and working in close collaboration with industry partners. Susan lectures in postgraduate units that include ‘Leadership in Health Care’ and ‘Quality and Safety in Health Care’, among others. Susan’s professional experience includes ten years of nurse management, research in the areas of healthy ageing, pain management and dementia and prostate cancer research. Susan’s professional experience also includes policy development and research with the Queensland Nursing Council and health practitioner regulation with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Dr. Fred Calixtro has completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Touro University Nevada. He is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Roseman University of Health Science, a leader is educating nursing students. His interest are cardiovascular nursing, use of simulation in nursing, decreasing lateral violence in nursing and nursing education, and international travel.

Marie Gerdtz is currently employed as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Nursing at The University of Melbourne, Australia. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Nursing, a Certificate in Accident and Emergency Nursing and Graduate Diploma in Adult Education and Training and a Doctor of Philosophy. Her approach to research and scholarship emanate from 15 years of clinical practice as an emergency nurse. Prior to the completion of her PhD in 2003, Marie held senior clinical leadership roles in a number of major teaching hospitals across Melbourne. She has published over 80 peer reviewed manuscripts in scholarly journals, government reports and book chapters and has a record of research funding from a range of industry sources and nationally competitive schemes.

Josée Bonneau completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Nursing at the University of Montreal and has obtained a graduate certificate in Bioethics from the Faculty of Medicine of this same university. Prior to taking on a full-time position at McGill in August 2014, she worked at the Ordre des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) in the Surveillance Office for Nursing Practice where she actively contributed to the development of nursing competencies and evidence based practice guidelines. She has also developed an expertise in Community Health, Bioethics and Nursing Education. She has taught Biology, Chronic Illness, Leadership, Community Health and Nursing Ethics at the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Montreal and is currently involved in the research and development of Ethical Competencies in Undergraduate Nursing Programs. She is also an Ethics Fellow at the Centre for Applied Ethics, MUHC.

Andrea Pokorna is currently associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. She started to work at Institute of health Information and Statistic (IHIS) of the Czech Republic where she is focusing on the human resources in healthcare and support of quality of care. She has 20 years’ experience of practice, policy research and consultancy in quality management and human resources as well as in wound management in nursing care. Her previous experience includes working as a staff nurse at the Faculty hospital and teaching in different levels of nursing schools including University and Colleges. She is principal investigator of the project focused on National Pressure ulcer registry development.

She holds a MHA degree, a MD degree & she completed post-doctoral fellowship training in researching and analyzing medical data at CDC in Atlanta GA. Her passion lies in caring for the elderly and investigating what happens when medicine and law collide. For more than 6 years, Dr. Edwards has volunteered healthcare services to 3rd world countries; earning her the status of Dame of Grace, Dame of Honor and Dame of the Grand Cross

Heather MacDonald completed her MScN at the University of Toronto, Canada, and her PhD in Nursing at the University of Manchester, UK. She has been a Professor at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, Canada, since 1990. In addition to having authored a number of publications, she has presented papers at various local, national, and international conferences. In addition to working at the University of New Brunswick, she has a Parish Nursing Practice.

Renee Martin-Thornton is the Director of Student Health and Psychological Sesrvices at Riverside City College. Renee obtained her PhD from University of Phoenix-School of Advanced Studies in 2014. She holds master degrees in nursing and health care management. She has 28 years of nursing experience, which includes 3 years as an Officer in the Army Nurse Corps. She maintains California Board of Registered Nursing instructor approvals in the following subjects: Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Gerontology, and Medical/Surgical. She presented the topic of “Cultural Competence in Nursing†to the California Vocational Nursing Educators in 2010. Her research interests include health disparities, maternal-child issues, cultural awareness, transcultural nursing, nursing education, and simulation in nursing education.

The author at present is an Assistant Tutor (Assistant Professor) Salalah Nursing Institute,Directorate General for Human Resource Development Ministry of Health Sultanate of Oman. He specializes in Nursing Administration, Leadership and, earned units with his Doctor of Nursing Management from Trinity University of Asia (DNsg.M), and obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Management (PhD.EM)( Meritissimus) from St. Jude College Graduate School, Manila. His research inclination is geared towards Nursing Education, Trans-cultural Nursing ,and Leadership and Management. He has participated in Major Nursing Conferences with Accepted papers as Presenter for Oral /Plenary and Poster in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, Oman, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States & Canada. He's experience in the service side includes working as an operating room nurse & field researcher. Kari Ingstad has completed her PhD at the age of 38 years from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and postdoctoral studies from Nord University. She is director of Research in the Faculty of health Sciences, Nord University. She has published more than 20 journal papers, book chapters, and conference papers. She has edited one book on Gender, Work and Employment.

Dr. Roganovic is the Full Professor of Pediatrics, School of Medicine Rijeka, and the Head of the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Pediatrics, Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka. At the national level, she contributed to the improvement of cure rate of children with cancer, and is interacting with regulatory bodies and parent groups. Dr Roganovic is a certified member of many national and international pediatric hematological and oncological societies. She is the author of more than 300 publications, abstracts and proceedings and several book chapters. She serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for number of journals. Dr Roganovic received several awards, including Patients' Choice Award Winner for 2011 and 2015, City of Rijeka Annual Award for outstanding contribution to the lives of children with cancer and the humanization of hospital care, and University of Rijeka Foundation Award for the contribution in biomedical and biotechnical sciences.
